civil wedding & neighborhood party – Lyon

Bus, champagne & beautifully controlled chaos

A wedding that started early and ended very far from quiet.

An early civil wedding in Lyon that started at home with getting ready, an oyster apéritif, a stop at Le Fond Rose in Caluire, and then a party that completely changed pace. The garden took a hit, so did the bodies, and nobody wanted to call it a night. So they took the bus. Straight to La Serre, their HQ. This is exactly the kind of wedding I love photographing: alive, unfiltered, elegant without trying too hard, and free enough to turn a simple ride into something iconic.

SATHONAY EARLY, ENERGY ALREADY HIGH

Civil wedding in Lyon, very little interest in behaving

THE MORNING IT ALREADY HITS HARD

This wedding started early, very early, with a civil ceremony at Place Sathonay at 10:30 a.m. But it was never going to be a neat little morning wedding. From the getting ready at home, there was already something in the air: rhythm, people fully in it, a way of being together that made the rest of the day obvious.

Then came the oyster apéritif, the table, the drinks, the stop at Le Fond Rose in Caluire, and that feeling that the whole day was only building. Not a polished timeline. More like pressure rising.

PIZZAS, A DESTROYED LAWN, ZERO DESIRE TO STOP

And then it tipped exactly the way it needed to.

They tore up the lawn with their dance moves, ate pizzas, erased every bit of distance between people, and turned their home into a proper party ground.

That is what I love about a wedding like this: no stiffness, no obsession with doing things “right” for the photos. Just a day lived all the way through. Pizzas, garden, drinks, moving bodies. Everything had already shifted long before the bus even arrived.

BUS STOP, WEDDING VERSION

No wedding planner in the world would have sold this as a “signature moment.” And still, it became the core of the story.

The bus shows up, the guests are already fired up, someone sprays champagne all over everyone at the bus stop, and then the party keeps going inside.

The groom jumps into his friends’ arms during the ride. The other passengers keep shifting between stunned and entertained. And that is exactly what makes this wedding unforgettable: they did not leave the party to go somewhere else, they brought the party with them.

And then La Serre. The HQ. The perfect place to end the night exactly the way it began: far too alive to fake any of it.

Getting married soon?

Dreaming of a wedding in Lyon that actually moves, with depth, style, and zero dead poses?

From Lyon to wherever the story takes us, I photograph weddings that are fully lived, that overflow their timelines, and that leave a mark long after the last song.

Let’s talk about it over a drink.

Sometimes it starts with a city hall ceremony early in the morning.

And sometimes it ends on a bus, soaked in champagne, before taking over an entire bar.

Give me the good stuff: your story, the vibe, the setting, what you’re dreaming of, your three obsessions, and why you want me in on this adventure. Or just drop a few availabilities and we’ll meet on a call — sometimes it all starts there. It’s up to you to make me dream.
